Is your dog struggling with joint pain? There are many options to allow you to relief the joint pain your dog is struggling with. Many dogs when they get older and larger struggle with hip problems in particular. It can be incredibly difficult to watch your dog get older and slow down. If you are like me you want to do everything you can to ensure your dog has healthy joints and is pain free. Whether your dog has arthritis or hip dysplasia you can help him. Here are several steps you can do to ensure your dog does not get bad joints and if they do what you can do to make them comfortable.

1. Glucosamine For Dogs

Giving your dog glucosamine can really help them recover from and prevent joint problems. In recent studies it has been shown that dog foods only contain 25% of the required supplements for dogs to have healthy joints. It is for this reason that many pet owners have been turning to joint supplements like glucosamine to help. A dogs body makes glucosamine but as the dog gets older it stops making as much glucosamine. This glucosamine is used to form the molecules that form the joint cartilage. Often glucosamine and chondrotin for dogs are combined to have the biggest benefit for your dog.

If you decide to help your dog with glucosamine supplements it is important to ensure that you give them the proper glucosamine dosage for dogs. Giving your dog the right dosage of glucosamine is very important, there are some side effects with glucosamine so making sure you only give the require dosage is important.

2. Dont make your dog walk up and down stairs

By minimizing the amount that your dog has to walk up and down stairs will allow their joints to begin to heal and not get worse. There is no activity that is harder on your dogs joints than stairs, if they are regularly having to walk up and down stairs their joints will only get worse.

Try moving most of the activities they do to the same floor, hopefully you will be able to have one floor for their food, bed and door to go outside.

3. Make Home Made Food

As mentioned above only 25% of pet food contains enough nutrients for their joints. However, you can easily make some dog food recipes which will allow your dog to get 100% of their daily nutrient requirements.

Some home made dog food recipes which are particularly good for your dogs joints include any recipe which has fish or chicken in it. Fish nutrients and oils are great for dogs hips.

Click Here for some great dog food recipes.

I owned a golden retriever who as he got older got arthritis and hip dysplasia, by giving him glucosamine, minimizing the amount of walking up and down stairs he had to do and feeding him home made food he was able to jog again. It was a remarkable turnaround he was able to do and really allowed him to enjoy the last 3 years of his life.

Are you thinking of what the best treats for your dogs? It is to make a homemade dog food!

Study shows in US Animal Health Association that 76% of dogs who have fed their dog owners with homemade dog food are healthier than dogs eating a commercial dog food because it is due to the focus on the servings with full vitamins and minerals with a right diet and healthy good foods.

There are dog owners that instead of giving their dogs a commercialized dog food they will make at home a dry dog food like some biscuits or cookies. Dog cookies recipe were combined with all other 10% of dogs total fat diet.

I’ll give you samples on how to make a dry dog food your dogs.

Here’s the Multi Grain Dog Biscuits: You just need to prepare on your table a ¼ oz active dry yeast in one package, 1 egg, 1 cup of rye flour,1 cup of cornmeal, 2 cups of whole wheat flour, 2 cups of cracked wheat bulgur, 2 cups chicken stock, 3.5 cups of all purpose flour, and a 4 table spoon of salt.

First you should pre heat your oven toaster into 300 degrees. Mix well in a bowl the flours, milk powder, cornmeal and salt. Next, in a separate bowl, put a ¼ of lukewarm of water to dissolve the yeast put it aside until it bubbles. Add the chicken stock together with the yeast mixture and mix it well. Add the liquid to the dry ingredients and knead for about 3 minutes. Observe that the dough should be stiff. Flour a board with cornmeal and roll out the dough to a thickness of ¼ inch then cut the biscuits with cookie cutter in any different shapes that you think your dog would be excited to eat then place on the ungreased cookie sheets. Mix the egg and use to brush the tops of biscuits, then bake the biscuits for about 45 minutes at 300 degrees.

To be able the biscuits will be bone-hard. Turn off the heat and leave the biscuits in the oven overnight and serve it to your dogs.

Another one ingredient of biscuit is the Liver Biscuits. Here’s the ingredients and directions:

Prepare 1 table’s spoon of garlic powder, 1 cup cornmeal, 1.5 cups wheat flour or any kind all purpose flour and 1 lb. Beef liver.

Step 1. Pre heat oven toaster into 350 degrees.

Step 2. Puree liver in food processor or blender, pour into bowl, mixing dry ingredients, then add flour slow a bit at a time until you have a stiff mixture. Pat and spread out on a greased cookies sheet or jelly roll pan.

Step 3. Then, bake 20 minutes or until dry. Cool and cut into shapes. Refrigerate or freeze.

These are some examples on how to make a dry dog food. Always consult your holistic veterinarian if your dogs are allowed to eat dry dog food. Though, homemade dog food is the best daily servings for your dogs, there are still some certain ingredients that is harmful for your dog.

Commercial foods as processed dog treats that you can found in the market, while the homemade is can be done whenever the owner decides to serve their dogs a homemade dog food.

Just like human, each dog must par take a healthy food which contains a vitamins and minerals, nutrients and micronutrients in the body.
There are some raw meat that you should avoid to be including as dog treats, raw fish and pork those are prone to a parasitic disease which is known as trichinosis.

How much do you love your dog? If you are going to ask me, I really love my doggy so much! That’s why I kept on searching on how to make dog treats? I’d like to make a homemade dog food for my dog. I want to surprise my dog every week end as I would like to spend time with her. I always make recipes that will make my dog treats to be excited to chow.

The whole thing was started when I found lots of recipes for a homemade dog food my dog. I was engrossed when there’s a lot of different rich for vitamins and mineral for dog treats which are good for the health of my doggy. I learned that homemade dog food is much better than buying a ready dog food in the market. Because aside from a cost less it is good as my hobby to cook for my dog and can have a quality time with her.

Every time I cooked a recipe for her (my dog) she used to be sweeter than before. She is also much behaved than before. She had stopped to scratch my things. And she is healthier than before since I cooked for her at home and do the homemade dog food. I can say that my doggy’s attachment is better now than before and I liked it. Since then, I always continue to have a dog treats for my doggy. I don’t know, but it might be the reason of having been cooking for her as we used to do as human. I am not sure but I think so.

I can say this because there are times whenever I used to leave the house to work my dog used to jump over me like hugging and something like she stop doesn’t want me to leave. And as when I reached home she used to do the same licking and even sweeter than before. I like the way my dog treats me as I treated her by doing the homemade dog food regularly as part of the things to do list every week.

I want to share this cookie dog treats which I found at the internet.

1 cup meal flavored corn, 2 scoops of all purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 egg be sure you’ve have beaten both white and yellow, 3 tablespoons oil can be vegetable or any available oil you have, ½ cup of broth cubes, fresh parsley chopped 1 tablespoon.

Directions: 1st – Set up the oven to 400 degrees f or 200 degrees Celsius. Grease one cookie sheet. 2nd – In one bowl , put together the flour, salt and corn meal while in another one bowl, beat the egg well with matching oil. Add the chicken broth cubes and parsley stirs it well. Next include the egg mixture to the 1st bowl with flour mixture to enjoin and make soft dough, slowly knead the dough. Make a roll with a ½ thickness inch. Shape it into anything you like using the cutter. Place it in the prepared cookie sheet with an inches pace. The last is bake it through a pre heated oven for about 15 minutes or until dense.

1. Palatability is a big issue when it comes to canine nutrition. If Fido doesn’t like the new dog food and ignores his bowl on a daily basis, you have to take steps to make the food attractive to your pet.

2. It‟s also important to observe your pet closely when you offer your dog a new dog food or new homemade meals. Is your pet digesting the food well? Does your pet feel great after his meals?

If your dog seems consistently ill after eating, your pet might be suffering from indigestion or food allergy. Excessive gas or flatulence is not normal and should be considered a warning sign that the new food is not being digested well by the animal. There is no saving the new dog food – if it‟s causing excessive gas, you must switch it with a tummy-friendly brand or homemade recipe.

3. Your dog‟s activity level should also be used as a measuring tool when choosing what type of food to give your dog. Some dogs like running all day long, while other dogs are accustomed to sitting around the house for most of the day.

If your dog is generally sedentary, do not give your pet dog food that is high in protein or fat. Puppies should not be given food with over twenty-five percent protein. Slightly active adult dogs on the other hand, should only receive about twenty-two percent protein in their regular meals.
